Colt Starting Clinic
Nathan Garlick has been starting colts for over a decade and was the winner of the 2023 Coonamble Ron Wall Memorial Colt Starting Challenge and runner up in the Man From Snowy River Trainers Challenge 2024. Nathan has developed an exceptional program that results in horses who are more than ready to take the next step in their training journey. Nathan is keen to share his knowledge and skills and therefore has developed a Colt Starting Clinic. The special thing about the horsemanship skills learned in starting a young horse is that they form the foundation for all horsemanship skills.

By attending the 4 Day Colt Starting Clinic, you’ll gain the foundational skills and confidence needed to start colts at home. I’ll demonstrate each step, explain the reasoning behind it, and guide you as you work with your own horse to achieve meaningful progress. When you understand why you’re doing something, you can apply it more effectively and you’ll know when to adapt your approach to suit different horses.
